Thanks for giving the heads up on the national library and creative commons. I showed our ict committee the matapihi site which has a bunch of contributors any way I like their showcase groupings which collect images around evocative themes. Visual language is incredibly powerful and unrivalled as a memory tool. Wow nice boat. I would like to be able to time travel.
Matapihi includes:
Alexander Turnbull Library
Archives New Zealand Te Rua Mahara o te Kāwanatanga
Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki
Auckland City Libraries
Auckland War Memorial Museum Tamaki Paenga Hira
Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetu
Christchurch City Libraries
Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa
New Zealand Electronic Text Centre
The New Zealand Film Archive Ngā Kaitiaki o Ngā Taonga Whitiāhua
Otago Museum
Puke Ariki
Te Ara - The Encyclopedia of New Zealand
The University of Auckland Library
University of Canterbury Library
University of Otago Library, including Hocken Collections
