Teacher TV

The UK have a number of fabulous online resources for teachers and one of my favourites has to be Teachers TV. There are a huge number of videos on almost any teacher topic you can think of with matching downloadable resources.

As a registered member, I get email updates and went and watched this video linked to from their email about teaching poetry. There are a number of great ideas in this lesson and all the materials used in the lesson are available for download from this page as well. You can even download the resources from the video player itself at the point in which they are mentioned in the video so you can decide if you would like that resource.

I have just subsribed this week and find there’s really a lot on offer. It’s great to receive the e-mail updates too. I’ve looked at the blogging resources. It’s a fantastic tool for the distance education setting (both for teachers and students) :-)

I’ve been getting the email updates for nearly a year and they’re a great resource. Very occasionally there’ll be a video that “is not available in your location”, but these are few and far between. Teachers TV actually have their own TV channel on SKY digital in Europe and have recently started broadcasting an Australian off shoot

I wonder if we’ll ever get it here in NZ?

There’s and Australian Teachers TV website too, http://www.teacherstv.com.au/ but only available to view in Australia :-(
